Hide & Seek Rocks!
Our aim is to share joy in an entertaining way.
Cover rocks with bright, attractive pictures or phrases, then leave them around town—preferably where they can easily be seen—for someone else to discover. You can also go searching for rocks painted by other people. A rock you find may be kept, hidden again or replaced with one you created.
After finding one, post a photograph or a selfie with it here. When possible, add #SPR to your own rocks so finders can locate this page and take part.
A few points to remember
Acrylic paints suit rocks well, cost little and are sold in many colours. Since paint can wear away, consider sealing your work afterwards with a clear coat or Mod Podge; nail polish and paint pens are alternatives. If you add decorations, attach them securely so they do not become litter.
Respect businesses and private property. Do not collect unpainted rocks from a business or somebody’s garden for painting. Taking rocks from railway tracks is illegal, and the applicable laws must always be obeyed :)
All content must remain family-friendly. Rude, negative or foul language is not tolerated, and repeated violations will lead to removal from the group. Posts unrelated to the group will be filtered according to their content.
Many members are talented enough to sell their creations, but sales must take place privately rather than in the group. At the administrator’s discretion, we may organise auctions for worthy causes.
