Welcome to the LOTR Rhône-Alpes 🇫🇷 group, covering departments 01, 07, 26, 38, 42, 69,73 and 74. You can post your creations and finds here as well as in the “France” group. Regional events and challenges will take place in this group.
Very popular in the United Kingdom, “Love on the rocks” allows adults and children alike to spread a little cheer easily and at no cost. Let us bring this activity to France: paint rocks, hide them in nature, then let strangers discover them by chance. The more participants there are, the greater everyone's chances of encountering a painted rock ❤️
In this group, you can:
- show your creations;
- indicate approximately where you have hidden your rocks — an area of town, a park, etc.;
- post a photograph of a painted rock you found, which will delight its creator if they recognise it;
- ask any question related to this hobby.
A few rules:
- Treat one another kindly.
- Do not glue anything onto the rocks: googly eyes, glitter, paper, tape, wool, feathers, buttons, etc.
- By posting your work, you allow others to use it as inspiration for their own rocks. If you do not want your design used as an example, do not post it or state this clearly.
- Every artistic skill level is welcome, from professional illustrators to people using a marker for the first time. What matters is creating and having fun.
- Encourage people who share their rocks; a kind word is always appreciated.
- If space permits, write “Love on the rocks France” on the back to invite the finder to join the community and possibly post a photograph.
- You may also specify whether the rock should be kept or hidden again.
The materials required include rocks, paint — acrylic gives the best finish on stone —, paintbrushes and/or Sharpie or Posca markers, and varnish. Apply the varnish by brush or spray in a well-ventilated place to protect your artwork ❤️
