About the community
This is a rock-painting group based in Indianola. By painting and hiding rocks throughout the Indianola area, the group promotes in performing Random Acts of Kindness. Through art, the group aims to nurture both community and a sense of togetherness.
HOW TO BEGIN:
- Choose a rock and clean it.
- Paint it with any acrylic paint — even inexpensive paint is suitable. Members can also add a special message using paint markers or Sharpies.
- After finishing the design, write Facebook Indy Rocks! on the bottom so other people can find us and take part. Sharpie markers are best for this step.
- For the best result, apply a clear spray sealant. Krylon and Rustoleum are available with matte or glossy finishes.
- Release it: hide your rock, share photos, and post clues on the group page so people can search for it.
Happy painting and collecting!
