About the community
Welcome to Happy Stones! My granddaughter and I began this summer project to bring happiness to every community, one painted rock at a time. It offers families an enjoyable activity together and a wonderful way to teach spontaneous kindness toward others.
Please follow these tips so the group remains a fun and welcoming place.
- CREATE AND CONCEAL. The project has no fixed geographic area, so everybody can participate. Make your own masterpiece and leave it wherever you choose. Take care, however, around businesses and never put rocks on grass where a lawnmower could launch one at somebody.
- PHOTOGRAPH AND SHARE. Once a rock is complete, write “Happy Stones of Facebook” on the back so people can find us. Photograph it and post the image on this group page, where we can appreciate your creativity. None of us is a famous artist; we are simply enjoying ourselves and spreading encouragement.
- KEEP CONTENT CLEAN. Many families participate together, and we want the group to remain suitable for children and families. Rocks and comments must not be crude or inappropriate. Our purpose is to support one another and improve someone’s day.
- FINDERS MAY KEEP THEM — OR NOT. When you discover a rock, you can keep it, hide it again, or give it away. Please post a photo and tell us your location and where the discovery occurred.
- ENJOY YOURSELF. We ask only that rocks be colourful and protected with clear coat, preventing rain from making the paint run or damage the surface beneath. If glitter or sequins are used, apply two coats of sealant so every piece remains attached.
