Welcome to Happy Stones Zeeland! This group grew from the group’s long-standing habit of painting animals, or simply whatever comes to mind, on rocks. “We” means my three children and me. After finding a rock marked “happy stones,” the group decided to do the same in the group’s own area, which welcomes many visitors from near and far.
If you find a Happy Stone, you may keep it or “release” it somewhere else. Happy Stones can travel all around the world.
Would you like to make your own? These tips will help.
What you need:
- a few pebbles;
- water-based acrylic paint;
- paintbrushes;
- clear acrylic spray varnish to keep the rocks looking beautiful for longer.
On the back, write Happy Stones Zeeland, your initials or identifying mark, and the Facebook logo ☺️. Naturally, the creator will be happy to know that a rock has been found ❤️. A photograph showing the location where it was found is therefore greatly appreciated.
Release homemade Happy Stones in visible places, for example by a tree, fence or lamppost along walking paths or school routes. The beach is also suitable, but do not place your creation in the sea.
We hope everyone enjoys making, releasing and finding them as much as the group do. The group asks participants to share your creations before sending them on their adventures. If you find a Happy Stone Zeeland, post it with a photograph on the group’s page.
