About the community
Happy Stones Westerwolde is for everyone who enjoys making, hiding or finding Happy Stones, or who simply likes them.
Happy Stones are painted rocks that bring joy to the people who find them. They are placed outdoors in clearly visible locations, for example near a bench, on a fence, beside a walking path or in a park. Every rock identifies a sender; in this case, “FB Happy Stones Westerwolde”.
When you find one, post a message and mention the location. A photograph is of course best, but not required. This allows the creator to see the rock “wandering.” Afterwards, let it continue its “journey” by placing it in another suitable spot, or keep it yourself. The aim is to make as many people happy as possible.
Would you like to paint and place rocks yourself? Wonderful — we certainly encourage that.
- Paint with water-based acrylic paint or acrylic markers, then protect the rock with varnish.
- Identify the sender on the back: Happy Stones Westerwolde.
Feel free to get started; the fun is what matters, and the rocks do not need to be works of art.
This group gives everyone in the area a place to report finds. Beyond that, you are completely free. There are therefore no events or special challenges.
Have lots of fun,
Tineke (creator of Happy Stones Westerwolde), Patricia and Anneke (who created a group for the first time).
