About the community
We are glad you are here at Happy Stones Raalte.
This group is about stones from Raalte (or the surrounding area) that make you cheerful.
If you have found one, we would love a photo or message on this page! You can keep the stone or let it continue wandering!
By joining this group, I assume that you respect the guidelines below. Anyone who does not will be removed as a member; I will not discuss the matter. This is a happy group, so let us make sure it stays that way for everyone!
Of course, you can also make your own happy stones:
*Find a stone in nature. Do not make “stones” from plaster or anything similar, because they do not belong in nature. It goes without saying that you are not supposed to empty your neighbours’ gravel path either 😜
*Use acrylic pens, acrylic paint or coloured pencils to add a fun picture to the stone. Do not use advertising, competitions and similar material, or offensive or unpleasant images. Write happy stones Raalte and the Facebook symbol on the back. Share only stones made by happy Stones Raalte in this group, not stones made in the name of other groups; that merely causes confusion and makes the group harder to follow!
*Do not attach eyes, glitter, beads or similar items to the stone: they will not remain attached and will end up in nature!
*Finish the stone with water-based lacquer or varnish. It is best to coat it completely so moisture cannot penetrate the stone and the image stays beautiful for longer. Other types of varnish are very harmful to nature!
*Leave your stone in a pleasant and safe place. Consider road safety and urinating dogs, and do not place it on moss or anything similar. In nature reserves, foresters and nature managers collect painted stones; they are then destroyed as special waste. This concerns stones placed on lichens, mosses and ferns, among other things, because paint and varnish can seriously damage their habitat. Mosses and lichens are important indicators of the state and condition of forests!
I wish everyone many happy moments in this group!
Good luck
