About the community
A Happy Stone should first cross your path; you are not meant to go looking for one. So do not search for them at exchange boxes, a stone library or a stone snake.
Of course, you can also make Happy Stones yourself to make someone else happy. 😁
To do this, transform a natural stone into a cheerful one by painting it beautifully or adding a drawing.
Put the Facebook symbol on the back and leave the stone somewhere it can make another person very happy.
The finder and/or maker shares the stone here on Facebook. It may then continue travelling, or you may keep it if you find it especially beautiful. Collecting large numbers is not encouraged, however. Have fun with Happy Stones Limburg.
A warm welcome to Happy Stones Limburg ❤️
Do you love this idea and feel like painting fun stones yourself to make people happy? Then I say: Do it!!!
Finding a little stone is fun, but making stones yourself and releasing them somewhere is even more fun!
If you make stones yourself, ensure that they are fun and friendly for children and adults alike:
stones that cheer someone up!
Use natural stones you have found and paint them with water-based acrylic paint. Do not attach plastic, googly eyes, glitter or rhinestones to the stones, for example; they can come loose, end up in nature or be eaten.
That is not a good idea, because we must take good care of nature. 😉
Then finish your creations with clear varnish or acrylic-based spray varnish.
Write Happy Stones Limburg (#HSL) or HSL on the back.
Also add your name or an identifying tag, for example #creabbv. This adds a little more structure when finding your stones again. A # containing only numbers or special characters (such as dots and so on) does not work. Check beforehand whether somebody already uses your tag: to do so, click the # once it has turned blue. This allows you to follow stones and posts.
You may varnish your stone; the varnish helps preserve the little work of art you created.
Only “release” your stones in places where there is no danger. Avoid dangerous junctions, roundabouts and so on.
Children act impulsively and do not recognise danger!
Good hiding places include routes to school, walking paths, parks and playgrounds, but also places by a rubbish bin (so good behaviour is immediately rewarded), on a bench or on a small wall, and so forth.
Just do not leave them within nature reserves themselves!
#hslregels
