CBR ROCKS gives Kenberra’s rock painters, hiders, and finders a place to share their enthusiasm for painted rocks. Post your techniques and tips, show rocks you have hidden, and above all share any painted creations you discover.
Paint a rock, protect it with spray sealant, and hide it in the community for somebody else to find. You can search in local parks, playgrounds, walking trails, and even your local shopping centre.
ALWAYS STAY AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS! ⚠️ This applies when hiding or finding rocks and during rock swaps.
- 🪨 Hide rocks carefully and safely without causing needless damage around you. Take all your rubbish away and leave only the rocks.
- 🪨 Never remove a rock from private property unless its owner has told you that you may. When uncertain, leave it.
- 🪨 Parents and carers are responsible for supervising children while they hunt for and find rocks.
- 🪨 For everyone’s safety, never hide rocks in hazardous places, on roads, in waterways, or close to native animals’ homes. Remain alert to possible snake hazards as well.
Because CBR ROCKS cares about the environment, we advise against adding artificial decorations to painted rocks. Do not use googly eyes, glitter, sequins, stickers, or adhesive gems and jewels: if they detach, they may endanger wildlife or add to litter. If you use fibres, choose natural wool or twine and secure them firmly.
SHARE, SHARE, SHARE. Every share can bring another rock painter into our community. Rock painting and hunting are not only for children; absolutely everyone is welcome to join the fun.
