About the community
Based in Iowa, Altoona Kindness Rocks is a creative community where people can show painted stones they have found or made for hiding, giving and trading. The activity is open to every age and ability: it brings families together, encthe group’sages time outdoors and helps participants discover their own creativity.
Use acrylic paints or paint pens, protect every side with sealer and write an instruction on the back, such as: “Post a picture to #altoonaiarocks or @Altoona Kindness Rocks, then keep or replace.” Not every hidden rock will appear online, but each one can still brighten somebody’s day. This is a selfless gift rather than a search for immediate recognition; whether the finder keeps it or sends it onward, the happiness continues.
